Catalysts & Adsorbents

Catalysts are generally used to lower the energy input necessary for a chemical reaction to occur and to increase the corresponding reaction rate. On the industrial scale, it allows running reactions at temperatures lower than those that are naturally requested. Catalytic reaction schemes often go through a first step of adsorption of at least one of the reactants, and can thus be studied as simple adsorbents. Adsorbents such as zeolites, active carbons, MOF’S are also investigated for their properties of gas storage (hydrogen, CO2). Thermogravimetry and volumetry are techniques allowing the quantification of the adsorbate, and calorimetry provides key data for the determination of the strength and nature of the interactions.

The SENSYS evo offers the most precise DSC sensor together with a truly symmetrical microbalance to give YOU a combined TG-DSC system with totally unmatched performance. Additionally both measurement sensors are totally independent,so can be operated independently or simultaneously without compromising performance.
SENSYS evo can be used in various configurations:
- DSC in horizontal or vertical mode
- High Pressure DSC(up to 500 bars at 600°C)
- Robotic DSC, with 48 samples, even under pressure
- Simultaneous TG-DSC-coupling to gas analysis (BET, gas sorption, FTIR, MS)

High Performance Symmetrical TGA System (ambient / 1750°C)

High Performance Symmetrical TGA System (ambient / 1750°C)

TAG

The TAG Analyzers use a symmetrical balance mounted over two matched furnaces to allow for buoyancy free measurements. This allows, primarily, for almost zero baseline drift and therefore for high precision and long term experimental studies. An example is the long term oxidation of metals and specialist materials.

Additionally the furnaces are easily adapted to take highly corrosive gaseous mixtures, and a fully automated gas panel allows for mixing and control for precise simulation of even the most demanding environments.
