THERMAL ANALYSIS
Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)/ Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA)DSC / DTADTA - Differential Thermal Analysis - & DSC - Differential Scanning Calorimetry - measure, respectively, the temperature difference and the heat flow difference between a sample and a reference material (subjected to the same temperature variation in a controlled atmosphere). DTA detects any change in all categories of materials; DSC determines the temperature and heat of transformation. SETARAM Instrumentation offers: - the widest temperature range of all DTA systems (from –150°C to 2400°C°) using high-precision tri-couple probes; - the most complete choice of DSCs (from Q&C system to the highest sensitivity DSC, and 3D-Sensor Inside DSC). Properties measured by DTA / DSC include phase changes, glass transition, melting, purity, evaporation, sublimation, crystallization, pyrolysis, heat capacity, polymerization, denaturation / aggregation, compatibility, etc. |
High Pressure Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) & CalorimetryHigh Pressure DSC & CalorimetryWith a high pressure DSC (or calorimeter), users are able to investigate materials and reactions under pressures as high as 1000 bars! In our solutions, the analysis chamber containing the sample (vessels, crucibles)is the only part under pressure. We have designed a gas panel capable of working under hydrogen. |
Thermogravimetry (TGA)TGAThermogravimetry (TGA) measures weight changes in a material (subjected to temperature variation in a controlled atmosphere). All SETARAM Instrumentation's balances satisfy the highest accuracy and stability criteria. Properties measured by thermogravimetry (TGA) include corrosion, pyrolysis, adsorption / desorption, loss of solvent, oxidation / reduction, hydration / dehydration, decomposition, carbon black, etc,. |
Simultaneous Thermogravimetry & Differential Scanning Calorimetry / Differential Thermal AnalysisSTA or TGA - DSC / DTAFor TGA-DSC, a DSC probe is attached to the balance to perform simultaneous TGA (thermogravimetry) and DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimeter) analysis of the same sample. Simultaneous TGA and DSC measurements - STA - offer more information than separate measurements with two different systems. SETARAM Instrumentation's range includes unique high temperature systems up to 2400°C and innovative coupling between symmetrical microbalance and 3D-Dimension DSC. |
Couplings / Gas AnalysisTGA coupled with QMS or FTIRCoupling of a gas analyzer (QMS : Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer, FTIR : Fourier Transformation Infrared Spectrometer, GC : Gas Chromatograph, etc.) to the TGA (Thermogravimeter) facilitates identification of emitted vapors and understanding of transformation mechanisms. SETARAM Instrumentation has developed several systems to optimize coupling between TGA (Thermogravimetry) and gas analysis: - SuperSonic System offering unparalleled measurement capabilities for TGA coupled to MS. - Capillary System to simplify your TGA-MS and TGA-FTIR measurements. Our thermal analyzers have also been successfully coupled with GC, BET, or X-Ray apparatus. |
Thermo Mechanical Analysis (TMA) / DilatometryTMAThermoMechanical Analysis - TMA - measures the deformation of a sample under non-oscillating stress against time or temperature, with programmed temperature. The vertical design of SETARAM Instrumentation's TMA systems makes it possible to work with very low loads applying only negligible force to the sample. Properties measured by ThermoMechanical Analysis -TMA -include thermal expansion coefficients, softening, sintering, glass transition, etc. |
